Duties and Responsibilities

The Association has the following duties:

  1. The Association may register members who have vehicles which can meet the requirements set for the level the Association is founded and has taken a license.
  2. It shall work to ensure its members to be beneficiary equally; it shall manage the activities of the Association.
  3. The Association shall perform its activities competently according to the competency criteria set by The Transport Authority.
  4. The Association shall inform to the Transport Authority whenever it changes the existing address and show the place.
  5. The Association shall improve and develop systems with plan and research so that members of the Association renders freight transport services competently.
  6. For the operational competency of the freight transport services and the Association itself, Yegna is committed to implement freight transport rules and regulations of the Authority and strives to raise the awareness of its members about them.
  7. It prepares trip schedules for vehicles of its members and enforces same as per Article 17 of Proclamation Number 468/2005.
  8. Yegna shall plan and implement systems for a quick and competent freight transport services for the public based on members specialization.
  9. For the development of the freight transport service, effective implementation of rules and regulation, keen participation of members in the sector, the Association is committed to enable members work according to the article of association and internal rules.
  10. The Association shall enter into a contract with consignee on behalf of its members and collect payment accordingly. It shall keep records, dispatches receipts with in ………..days to members based on the services they rendered. The time to dispatch receipts may not exceed 15 days.
  11. Yegana shall assist members of Yegna to make them competent and competitive while they render services by making working conditions conducive as well as adopting and implementing best experiences of others either from abroad or home.
  12. For the common good of members of the Association and to make freight transport services holistic, Yegan provides the following services:
    • Construction and administration of vehicle stops and terminals;
    • Fleet management technologies;
    • Road station/branch offices
    • Freight distribution offices
    • Repair centers
    • Fuel depots
  13. For the sustainable development of the Association and its members, Yegna shall establish stores or warehouses for oil, spare parts, tires and similar materials so that it distributes to members’ consumption timely and equally without seeking profit to reduce the costs and enable the members competitive.
  14. Yegna keeps data which show its services and activities as well as the freight transport members of it rendered to.
  15. The Association provides relevant information to en route information centers or the concerned bodies.
  16. To promote awareness and facilitate training system with a view to minimize traffic accidents, Yegna will give due attention and hence establishes road safety unit, creates conducive conditions for its effectiveness, keeps records and forward same to the Authority.
  17. To provide complete freight transport services, Yegna and its members maintain the technical sufficiency needed for the vehicles.
  18. Yegna makes each and every freight transport services based on contract.
  19. Yegna shall transport according to the contract it enters to. However, if the assigned vehicle fails to transport due to force majeure, it will avail another vehicle in lieu of the former.
  20. Yegan shall ensure its drivers and other staffs to be well disciplined ethical for freight transport services it provides.
  21. Yegna maintains documents concerning ethical matters and forward to the Authority. In all the services Yegna is providing to shall respect the rights of the customers, carriers and consignees. In addition, it facilitates and ensures the proper functioning of the transportation system.
  22. If the Association is dissolved for any reason, its assets shall be transferred to the concerned organ according to government legislation, article and memorandum of association of Yegna. Same shall be reported to the organizing body of the Authority.
  23. Yegna shall give clearance within five days to members who wants to leave the Association given they have no debt or after it caused them to pay. It shall inform the Authority accordingly.
  24. The number of members of Yegna shall be determined based on the limit set for the level about the number and procedure.
  25. Yegna administers vehicles of its members; whenever necessary it hires and fires drivers. The details will be determined by the members of the Association. It shall notify the documents to the Authority to this end.
  26. Yegna shall assign vehicles whenever a national call for freight transport service  is made by the appropriate organ of the government.
